PNG File Comparison

This is important to note. PNG files are wonderful, however they are a bit large in file size. Below are 3 different image file types of the same photo. Note the difference in file size.

File Size: 44.4 KB	File Size: 31.9 KB	File Size: 78.3 KB
Image Quality: 100% / Format: JPEG	Image Quality: 256 colors / Format: GIF	Image Quality: 24 bit / Format: PNG

Here is another example. This is the same image with a portion made transparent. As you can see, the PNG "looks" the best, but is still the largest in file size.

So, in conclusion, when it comes to artwork on websites, PNG images result in slower sites, so it's best for them to be used in a minimal and necessary manner.
